To me, dissemination to wider audiences is part of the academic mission. Hopefully, having a public presence makes attending my lectures and teaching activities more appealing to the students.

Public lectures
During the covid-19 pandemic I gave a plenary lecture on pandemics and disease control throughout history («Pandemier og smittevern gjennom historien») for 350 Norwegian teachers attending the digital “Realfagkonferansen 2020”. A video of the lecture and the presentation, including further resources, is available online.
In 2000, I gave a lecture on disease, research and things for the event Barneuniversitetet, attended by 12-year olds via streaming, demonstrating teaching with objects.
